Jennifer Lawrence has described a specific incident on a film set where she discovered unapproved individuals present during her nude scene. She shared the details during a recent appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast. Lawrence stated that the discovery caused her to come down hard on the crew.

The actor explained that the situation was a matter of principle. She questioned what would happen if an 18-year-old unknown arrived on set and found people present who had not been cleared. Lawrence noted that a new performer would face a difficult choice. They could speak up and risk being labeled difficult. Alternatively, they could allow people they are uncomfortable with to see them naked. She said it was vital to explain to the crew why the situation was unacceptable.

Lawrence said the experience became a defining moment in her career. She credited it with teaching her why speaking up matters. The conversation started with a question about whether she has become more comfortable advocating for herself over the years. Lawrence admitted that flexibility is part of the job. She cited director Lynne Ramsay asking her to cut her hair, get mullet bangs, and dye it platinum blonde for the film Die My Love. Lawrence said, That is the gig. However, she added that she speaks up more now because she is aware of her position in the industry.

The actor has appeared in nude and sex scenes before. Last year, she drew attention for remarks about working without an intimacy coordinator on Die My Love. The film stars her opposite Robert Pattinson. Speaking on the Las Culturistas podcast, Lawrence said she felt very safe with Pattinson. She described him as not being pervy. She noted that he and his partner, Suki Waterhouse, mostly talked about their kids and relationships.

Lawrence said she would have wanted an intimacy coordinator if there had been awkwardness regarding whether Pattinson thought she liked him. She observed that many male actors take offense if a woman does not want to sleep with them. She said a kind of punishment follows in those cases. Lawrence stated that Pattinson was not like that.

Regarding her comfort level, Lawrence said she does not care about nudity and is not sensitive about it. She wanted Ramsay to have total artistic freedom. She noted that being pregnant removed much of her vanity anxiety. Before No Hard Feelings, she recalled dieting, avoiding carbs, and working out. While making Die My Love, she was pregnant and working 15 hours a day. She said she was simply tired.

Lawrence also recalled being sent a close-up image showing cellulite. The team asked if they should touch it up. Her answer was no. She said, That is an ass.
