Fi Cuts 30 Percent Off Its Satellite-Connected Dog Trackers Through October 25

Shoppers can use the code SCARY to save on Fi pet trackers, including the Fi Ultra GPS, which drops to $209.30.

Pet owners who worry about a wandering dog or cat now have a chance to pick up a GPS tracker at a lower price. Fi is offering 30 percent off its pet trackers through October 25 when shoppers enter the coupon code SCARY at checkout.

The promotion covers several satellite-connected models, among them the Fi Ultra GPS that The Verge has tested. After the discount, the Fi Ultra costs $209.30, which effectively returns it to its original launch price.

The Fi Ultra carries an IP68 rating, so it is fully waterproof, including in saltwater. Battery life reaches up to five days, depending on how active a dog is. The device clips onto a collar or harness and relies on a mix of LTE, GPS and Starlink satellite coverage to show a pet's current location and recent movements, even where cellular service is unavailable. It can also play sounds and vibrate to get a dog's attention. Fi describes it as the first dog tracker to combine T-Satellite with Starlink, GPS and LTE.

The Verge tested the tracker earlier this year in a remote part of South Carolina. Tracking was precise, but the update interval of two or three minutes could be a problem for fast dogs. Battery life also suffered in Lost Mode, where a full charge lasted barely two days. The unit is fairly large, so it suits bigger dogs better.

An active subscription is required to use the tracking features. Fi gives a discount on the first term and offers six-month, one-year and two-year plans with lower overall monthly rates. A one-year plan costs $99 for the first year and $189 for each year after. The plans work only in the United States, and there is no satellite coverage in Alaska.

Other deals are also available. Amazon sells a physical copy of Kirby Air Riders for the Nintendo Switch 2 at $48.99, down from the usual $69.99. The fast-paced racing game offers notable depth in character and kart customization, with cosmetic and functional upgrades that unlock over time.

The JLab JBuds Talk USB-C microphone is $24.99 at Amazon, where its price usually ranges between $50 and $100, the full MSRP. It offers four directional modes and a 96KHz/24-bit sample rate for clear voice recordings, and a dedicated microphone can improve audio quality noticeably over headphones or a laptop's built-in mic.

Amazon also lists Lego's Star Wars Grogu set at $103.99, which is $26 off and matches its lowest price to date. The 1,200-piece kit depicts Grogu in beskar armor and includes a satchel for his gear, or snacks. Builders can swap his arms and facial features for different expressions, and a built-in lever turns his head.
