Dmytro Lubinets, Ukraine's Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights, reported on October 28 that the temporarily occupied city of Oleshky has remained quiet for thirty hours. He stated that no incidents have been recorded since the ceasefire took effect. Lubinets shared the update on social media, marking the first full day of the truce without reported breaches.

The commissioner attributed the stability to ongoing coordination with Yana Lantratova, Russia's human rights commissioner. Lubinets wrote, “We remain in contact and are coordinating the implementation of the agreements reached.” He cited this direct communication as a key factor in maintaining the pause in hostilities. The two officials have maintained a constant line of communication to oversee the humanitarian mission.

Lubinets also directed thanks to US First Lady Melania Trump for her role in the initiative. He noted that her direct involvement and the coordination of efforts between the parties were important parts of the process. He extended gratitude to her team for their continued support and communication regarding the civilian population in Oleshky.

The primary goal of the arrangement is to assist civilians and create conditions for safe evacuation. This update follows an earlier report from October 27, when Lubinets said both Ukraine and Russia were fully complying with the agreements. At 17:30 on that day, no violations had been recorded in the designated areas tied to the humanitarian mission.

The truce stems from a White House announcement on October 23, which stated that Melania Trump had secured the ceasefire agreement. Lubinets announced that the truce began at 03:00 Kyiv time on October 27. Russia's Defence Ministry confirmed the introduction of the ceasefire. The agreement is scheduled to remain in effect until 22:59 on November 1.

Image prompt description: A wide shot of a gray, overcast sky over a residential street in a city. Several low-rise apartment buildings with balconies line the street. The street is empty of people but has a few parked cars and a closed storefront with metal shutters. The lighting is flat and diffuse, suggesting early morning or late afternoon. The mood is still and quiet. No text or logos are visible.
