The SportsLine Projection Model predicts 236 combined points when the Cleveland Cavaliers host the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday night at Rocket Arena.
The simulation tool, which has generated nearly $19,000 in profit for $100 players on top-rated NBA picks since 2018, ran the matchup 10,000 times to reach that number. The model recommends the over on the total, currently set at 231.5. It projects the over will hit 56% of the time.
The Timberwolves enter the game with a 3-0 record. They beat the Toronto Raptors 117-94 on Sunday. Cleveland is 1-1 after defeating the Brooklyn Nets 125-121 on Saturday. The Cavs are listed as 5.5-point favorites in the latest odds.
Anthony Edwards, the leading scorer for Minnesota, is listed as questionable due to a knee injury. In three starts this season, he averages 28.7 points, five rebounds, 3.3 assists, and two steals in 31.3 minutes per game. Six Timberwolves players average at least 12 points.
Donovan Mitchell leads the Cavaliers with 27 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.5 steals, and one block per game in 35.5 minutes over two starts. The over has hit in each of the last four meetings between these two teams. It is 7-3 in Cleveland's last 10 games and 5-8 in Minnesota's last eight.
The model is 26-10 on top-rated NBA spread picks dating back to last season. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.
