President Donald Trump will arrive in Daytona Beach, Florida, on Friday to hold a campaign rally. The event marks a key stop in his midterm tour as he seeks to energize the local Republican base.

Trump plans to stump for Byron Donalds, the Republican candidate for governor. Donalds is currently favored to win the race against David Jolly, a Democrat and former Republican congressman. The contest is viewed as competitive, a sharp contrast to the 2022 election where incumbent Ron DeSantis secured reelection by a margin of nearly 20 points.

The President is also expected to support Senate candidate Ashley Moody. Moody is running in a special election to retain her seat for another two years. She faces Democratic state representative Angie Nixon in the race. DeSantis appointed Moody to the Senate in 2025 following Marco Rubio's move to the State Department.

The rally will also benefit Rep. Randy Fine, who represents the district that includes Daytona Beach. Fine took office in April 2025 after winning a special election to replace Mike Waltz. Waltz subsequently joined the Trump administration and now serves as the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations.

Florida recently redrew its congressional map voluntarily before the midterms. Republicans currently hold 20 of the state's 28 House seats. The new district lines have created opportunities for the party to increase its total count in the chamber.
