David Breuer-Weil, a British artist known for large-scale public sculptures, will open his first solo exhibition in Israel on November 4. The show, titled Unity, is set to debut at the Sheetrit & Wolf Gallery in Tel Aviv’s Neve Tzedek neighborhood.

The artist was recently selected to design a major memorial in the United Kingdom commemorating the events of October 7. While the specific details of that commission have not yet been released, the new exhibition in Israel addresses the tragedy and the emotional impact of the hostages' return.

A central part of the display is a new series called Home. Breuer-Weil created these paintings and sculptures after the initial return of the Israeli hostages. He stated that he had never encountered a theme that felt more vital for him to sculpt, paint, and draw.

The exhibition also includes a monumental canvas named Morning. This piece uses hundreds of intricate images and symbols to preserve the historical memory of the October 7 attacks. Another work, Where Shall I Go? (Ana Elech), focuses on the current state of the British Jewish community.

That specific piece explores the future of British Jewry against a backdrop of rising insecurity and antisemitism in the UK. The gallery curated the show to highlight human connections and the desire for solidarity during times of crisis.

British Ambassador to Israel Simon Walters is expected to attend the opening night. The gallery will also host screenings of a documentary film titled The King of Nerac, which explores the artist’s life and philosophy. The show is curated by Gregory Baker.

Unity will remain open to the public until December 4 at 35-37 Shabazi Street. Hours are Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
