Texas State football enters its most difficult contest of the season Saturday night in Boise, Idaho.
The Bobcats (4-3, 3-1 in the Pac-12) play the Broncos (6-1, 3-0 in the Pac-12) at Albertsons Stadium at 9:30 p.m. CDT. The game airs on the CW network. Weather forecasts call for cloudy skies and possible rain, with temperatures near 55 degrees Fahrenheit at kickoff.
Boise State enters the game as the Pac-12's top team. The Broncos have secured seven Mountain West championships in the last 15 years. Their offense features veteran quarterback Maddux Madsen and running back Dylan Riley. Riley ranked second in the nation in rushing yards before the start of Week 9. Texas State must manage that threat to counter a Boise State defense that allows only 20.6 points per game, the best mark in the conference.
The Bobcats face their own offensive hurdles. They struggled offensively against Utah State last week but secured a 20-17 victory through defensive play and special teams. Head coach GJ Kinne has guided the team to average more than 35 points per game since taking over in 2023. Running back Torrance Burgess Jr. is listed as probable for the game, while fellow running back Davian Jackson is questionable.
Betting lines favor the home team. Boise State is a 10.5-point favorite with a -450 moneyline. The over/under total sits at 64.5 points. Texas State is a +350 underdog on the moneyline.
The Bobcats will return to the road for their next contest. They travel to Oregon State on November 7 at 9 p.m. on the CW. That game follows a home series against Fresno State on November 14 and Washington State on November 21.
