A new hardcover children's book titled Following Auburn Tiger Pawprints Through the ABCs hit shelves on November 4. The publication is the first rhyming alphabet book officially licensed by Auburn University. It is written by Linda Bell Colquitt and illustrated by June Self Jones.
The book pairs rhyming text with historic photography and whimsical illustrations. It covers university traditions, history, and cultural icons. The format ranges from A for Auburn to K for Kick Six.
Colquitt is an Alabama native and a long-time supporter of the school. She worked as a kindergarten teacher for more than 30 years. She spent many years researching and writing the text for this project.
The university licensed the work to ensure accuracy and official status. The final product is designed as a keepsake for young children and a nostalgic item for adults. The hardcover format includes a mix of old photographs and new artistic drawings.
Copies are available at three retailers. Book Nook by Rocky Heights in Birmingham, Alabama sells the book online at localbooknook.com. J&M Book Store in Auburn, Alabama lists it at jmbooks.com.
