Jay-Z will perform the Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show, marking his first live appearance at the event. The NFL, Apple Music, and the artist announced the decision on Monday. The game is scheduled for February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
Roc Nation, Jay-Z's company, has produced the halftime show since 2019. The firm recently signed a five-year contract extension to continue in that role through 2029. Since taking over production, the shows have featured more hip-hop and rap acts. Last year's performance in Santa Clara, California, starred Bad Bunny with guests Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin.
The 2022 Super Bowl in Los Angeles featured Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar. Other recent headliners include Rihanna in 2023, Usher in 2024, and a joint set by Kendrick Lamar and SZA in 2025.
Jay-Z, a 25-time Grammy winner, has been touring to mark the 30th anniversary of his debut album, Reasonable Doubt, and the 25th anniversary of The Blueprint. The Jay-Z 30 Tour began with three dates at Yankee Stadium in July. He then performed two shows in London and one in Paris in September.
His final scheduled tour dates occurred on October 23 and 24 at SoFi Stadium. Those shows now serve as a direct rehearsal for his upcoming Super Bowl performance at the same venue.
